About

lkHello and welcome to my journal! Originally from Thessaloniki, Greece but living in Northern Europe for the past 30 years -the last ten of which in my adopted hometown Brussels, I try to surround myself with nice people & music & visual art & dance, because they make everyday life bearable & beautiful & rich. This is my growing collection of life’s little pleasures I wanted to share with you, but mainly keep and  remember so that they don’t fade away…

Since end of August 2016, my path brought me to the Big Apple. While I try to absorb the differences in life & culture, and try to grasp the sheer size of New York, I’ll be sharing my impressions in The Humble Fabulist.

You will find more photos about ART | TRAVEL | FASHION | MOVIES | LIFE, on my Tumblr blog

    • Thank you Geert! I also enjoy yours since I found it via the WPC. I’m always falling back, being too busy in the ‘real’ world and all, but trying to call as often as possible.
PS: Thanks also for commending on my brand new header; I change them some times to match the mood 🙂

Λία

  3. Thank you so much Russell! Your words are really heart warming and give me all the more reason to continue. Keeping this blog does take up more time and energy than I had thought when I started, I must admit. But I enjoy it so much especially because, through it, I can discover great talents and interesting people like you that otherwise I never would have met; which makes it all so worthwhile! Hope to see you here often! Cheers, Lia

    • Thank you back! I found CROW through Manja’s blog and for a moment I got confused until I realized it was the alter ego of Sandy. I love collage and CROW’s work so please count me in your regular visitors.

  4. Hi Lia, great blog! So happy to have found it while searching for photos of Dieweg cemetery to share with a friend. I also live in Brussels — 17 years next month, and finally got around to blogging a bit, although I haven’t made it a regular thing yet. Looking forward to seeing more of your Brussels…and elsewhere!

    • Thank you so much Wendy! Very happy to meet another ”old timer”, even if only virtually. Your blog may not be as regular as you would like but is great and I’m sure your tips as an expat will be very much appreciated, especially by newcomers. I’m really looking forward to reading more – will be checking in regularly.

  5. Hi Lia in Brussels! I posted a special edition record for you. Special because 1) it’s the second in one day and 2) it’s inspired by your comment – so I didn’t want you to miss it. Not great, but I did the best I could. It’s number One Hundred Eighty-Four Point Five.

    • You.Are.Amazing Jo Freeland!
No, I wouldn’t miss it, in fact I was playing the video when I saw the ”comments” cloud turn orange (then lost internet connection for a couple of minutes weirdly). So happy to be the nought five part of your work today. Feeling good 🙂 Thank you so much!

      • MY pleasure Lia! It was fun learning something new. I couldn’t pass by your comment without a proper reply. Glad you enjoyed it. And now your comment has inspired today’s record and will be connected to all posts to follow. Nice to connect with you Lia!

  6. Nice Blog artistic human soul ,Take care and be good 😀
i find here creativity, fresh thinking and wise mind

Don't be afraid ,ghosts don't bite

    • I admit, being a Greek makes it easier to learn 😉
It’s a beautiful and rich language and we Greeks don’t even take advantage of half of its potential… which is a pity really… but the way languages evolve it seems like in a short while everyone will speak one (or all) of the three: english, chinese, spanish!

      • No worries about passing them on. I hardly fulfilled mine. I just had to honour the people who gave them to me and I wanted to share with my readers the few blogs like yours that I enjoy following. x

    • Although not on everyone’s list, Belgium is a beautiful country with a diverse culture, landscape, people, even fashion sense! I love living here. Hope you can make it in one of your next trips, any time of the year except September, if you like beer! (did I just make a rhyme)?

    • Hi again! Wow, for someone who doesn’t live in Brussels, you certainly write quite a lot about it! 🙂 I’ll definitely be revisiting!! And thank you for having a look into my blog, hope to see you here again soon!

  7. I’m here as part of the Mason Bentley blog party and catching up on things in London I missed while living in Texas!

    • Hi, lovely to meet you! I love London and try to visit at least once a year. There is always so much to do and see… imagine last time I stayed for six days in April and I just finished writing about it yesterday! I’m switching to yours now, see you in a sec!
