One foot up and one foot down, this is the way to London town!…

LDN… thus we walked up and down, crossing bridges into town, on to lanes, paths and backstreets, urban parks and alleyways… heard the city’s bustling beats, tasted lovely, dainty treats…

For six amazing days we were enchanted, transported to wonderland, thrilled, starstruck, pleasantly surprised, blown away and cooled down, chilled to the bone and chillaxed to the core, embraced weirdness and beauty,  got in tune with this buzzing city and its amazing crowd, ate delicious cake (tons of), then walked some more to burn off the calories…

From the Oval and Kennington to Vauxhall bridge…

Don’t forget Nell Gwyn’s House! a passer-by pointed out… it’s in the narrowest street, somewhere around Govent Garden…

Turning our backs to Harrods… but not before a glimpse at a couple of limousines letting their perfectly groomed, veiled wife-”sirens” out and into the iconic temple of their dreams… a bit further down this casino-hotel… and even further down, magnolias in full bloom in Hyde park:

A little earlier, we visited the V&A Museum to see the David Bowie exhibition. So exhilarating it was, that we couldn’t bring ourselves to continue with the rest of the museum. The exhibition merits a separate post, and the museum a separate visit, but we did have lunch, accompanied by soft piano music in the majestic cafe; we also took advantage of a rare warm, sunny day to bask in the garden:

London is buzzing with positive energy right now… Spring is in the air, albeit windy and chilly, but you feel it… The city is livelier than ever and Londoners are getting into the right mood…

To be continued!…
